I was on a walk through the “nature trail” and this is where it lead me:

I would have been disappointed and had to turn around right away if it had not been for the Egrets who were wading through the flood water. Here is some footage I got with my cellphone camera:

So I stood out there, just a few feet away from them, and they didn’t really seem to mind that much. I also got to meet another wildlife photographer while I was out there in the very chilly wind.

Here are some still frames of the Egrets, I added color and effects to some of them just for fun:

I haven’t been posting my inktober drawings so much because I’m working on moving my blog over to a self hosted blog. Hopefully it will be up soon and all of my subscribers will be transferred over and all that good stuff. I just want to get back to blogging like normal and the process (for me) seems difficult.
I did manage to make a drawing for today though 😀
lion bird
I call it a lion bird because its silly looking, the gryphon’s goofy cousin! I could never imagine this thing hunting something to eat… its just way too funny and happy.

Wouldn’t it be amazing to have a great big bird to fly around on, and to keep you company? Sometimes I imagine that Mr. Nice Guy has made all sorts of animal friends and that is the reason why he wants to go outside so often. Here he is soaring with a banner on a bird:

I really like this character I made, her name is “Uni” (for lack of anything better to call her).

She is a Unisus, otherwise known as an Alicorn. I think she is feeling down and the little birds want her to come fly with them.

Here is a still frame so you can see what the finished drawing will look like, just in case you are at work or someplace where you don’t want Mozart’s “Eine Kleine Nachtmusik” blasting from your phone.

I’m trying to get better at coloring my drawings, usually I have very little motivation to draw backgrounds or landscapes.

I’ve lived in an artistically black and white world for most of my life, but it isn’t depressing as some people might think. Sometimes I use too much color, which can distract from the drawing itself. So I’ll admit I’ve avoided color because of my idea of “nice colors” are usually neon or greyish tinges which other people can have an aversion to.

Anyways, here is the kitten I promised you:

There are hummingbirds in my neighborhood and I keep on hearing their little chirps! They are so quick and small that it was a real chore to capture them on film.

I finally got some decent footage of them stretching their wings, scratching their head and taking off into flight. Complete with instant replay in slow motion. There is even a neat shot of the sun reflecting off from their iridescent feathers.

Yay, I’m pretty happy with how this one turned out! I’d say its one of my better ‘speed drawings’ on my channel. -Feel free to share if you are so moved 😀

I just love drawing kitties with wings : )

The weather has definitely gotten colder and the leaves are falling rapidly. Time for these kitties to migrate to warmer climates!Cat family flying southMamma kitty thinks to herself “Purrhaps the Bahamas would be nice this time of year?”

I suppose these little winged kitties of mine would hatch out of an egg and find themselves in a great big strange place that they are compelled to explore!
Winged lion cubLooking back at all these drawings I’ve made nearly every day I feel as though October is a very long month. I wonder how I’ll feel after I’m not doing inktober doodles? Maybe I’ll keep on drawing or move on to another project? Who knows, only time will tell.
