It seems like Mr. Nice Guy has been getting a lot of time in the spotlight, Time to draw Lisa and Kyoko!
Sometimes it seems like Lisa thinks she is getting recognition or praise when I talk to her about a thing that she is doing… such as sitting on my drawing paper! Its hard to be upset with Lisa because she just seems so innocent and playful.
Then there is our sweet boy Kyoko…
He often reminds me that his dish is empty, that he really wants me to feed him. Some of the looks he gives are so pitiful that he sometimes almost gets a second meal from another family member because they think he hasn’t been fed. But thats not all there is to his character, just one of the things he enjoys. Another favorite past time is lots and lots of cuddles and nose smears!
Today I thought I’d try to draw a few characters from a really cute cartoon called “The Fantastic Adventures of Unico”
I feel like this story speaks volumes, not only does it teach that we have the ability to spread happiness wherever we may be NO MATTER HOW GLUM the circumstances may be- It also teaches us that people with behavior that we find unsuitable or unpleasant are sometimes the people who need a friend the most because they are the ones who get in trouble because of being mislead by their whims!
Beezle was just downright abusive to unico… he had no idea how to be friends, he is a devil after all. But when it came right down to it, he made up an excuse to break his usual rules of conduct and he pulled through for unico when he was in danger!
Katy was an abandoned kitty with grand dreams of becoming a witch, she just wasn’t living in the “real world”. Katy seemed very selfish when they first met and one thing lead to another and then Katy was in danger despite unico’s good advice. She didn’t seem to have loyalty to anyone, not even herself. She redeems herself after a near fatal incident at a castle where unico and beezle make an appearance.
Tonight I thought that I would try something different with my art. I drew the picture like usual. Then instead of doing my usual line shading for the background I cut out my drawing and then glued star shaped paper to a blank sheet and spray painted it black! After the spray paint dried I peeled off the stars and then taped on my drawing over the black, I really like how it turned out 😀
Just a side note: Please forgive the sillyness of my behind schedule posting, I post my art during the night and by the time I finish drawing and typing it is usually well past 12 midnight which makes it the next day even though I intended on posting this for the current day. I know it doesn’t really matter but I bet someone out there has noticed that I constantly appear to be a day behind.
Somehow I don’t think the squirrel will accept her into the family…
My cat Mr. Nice Guy hasn’t always shown such great fondness for me…
I remember when he was a kitten and how he would scowl at me when i tried to pet him.
These days, however, he seems to have an almost URGENT need for sitting on my lap to be caressed or to stand with his behind in front of my computer monitor.
(Image below- Here he is expressing boredom at my computer usage, he even sighs from time to time)
He would prefer that i pet him and carry him around so that he wouldn’t have to walk about the carpet like a common kitty pet.
Here is a picture of his paw directing my computer mouse…
Despair not Mr. Nice Guy… you receive pets aplenty and many a can of mushy food!
Your human cannot forget you and your many quirks : )
I drew this by hand with a grease pencil (Above) then recolored it on the computer (Below)
