Our old foster kittens.

They sure were adorable to watch play. You see the little tuxedo girl kitten here doing her “Dance of death” to that little beetle there in the carpet.

New videos!

We picked a bunch of ripe apples from my sister’s house and brought them home only to discover that Kyoko loved how they smelled.
I think he confused the chair to have the scent and started licking it really loudly. He looks so surprised when he sees that i’m recording him.

My adorable hunter Kyoko gets that pesky broom handle that is making such a racket underneath the rug. Back and fourth back and fourth… well not no more! Kyoko has got a great pounce that would knock any living creature unconscious!

His distinguished glance says it all: I am deserving of great things.

Nice Guy in the mirror

Looking at himself in the mirror he realizes “This is why I’m so easy to love, I’m HANDSOME!”

Drinking water

He doesn’t drink from a kitty bowl like a commoner, no. Here is a link to a video of Nice Guy asking for a drinkpaw demandsHe grabs my leg as i watch the moving picture noise box “Ahem, pet me now.”

And he is right to be this way, with 2 other cats in the house he has to make himself stand apart from them.

Not to blend in to the background, be seen for the amazing handsome cat that he knows himself to be.

Our lovely cat Lisa has been with our family for 5 months now and its been the most wonderful time for us!

I got a comment on our facebook fan page asking to see before and after photos of Lisa and BOY DID IT TAKE A LONG TIME TO SORT THROUGH PICTURES to find the first shots i took when we brought her home.

Here is Kyoko saying hello to Lisa for the very first time.

And now for the Before and After adoption photos!

Here is a front shot of Lisa sitting, it doesn’t look like too dramatic of a change.

But if you look carefully you can see a difference in the texture of her fur. It was much thinner when we first adopted her.

Image

In this next photo you can see how she has gained more muscle mass, I think she even looks more confident nowadays.

Image

This next shot shows how thin she was.

When we used to pet her we could clearly feel her skeleton, especially on her hips and shoulder blades. She was pretty dehydrated.

Image

These photos are pretty clear. She was balding on her hind quarters, as you can see this is no longer the case! Thank goodness!

Image

Here is another example of how her fur used to look. It was thin on the sides around her belly. You can see the stripes that are close to her skin.

Image

Here is how the fur on the top of her neck  looked, it was thinner as well. Now she has a full glorious mane that any kitty could be jealous of!

We are so thankful that we were able to adopt Lisa from some very nice people who found her outside their workplace at a music store.

It was a miracle that happened in such an intricate way:

We wanted to adopt another cat… but we hadn’t told anyone. Then my mom visited a music store in my area and got to see a cat who the employees said was a stray. So my mom texted me the details and said that this cat may not live very long. It was my mom’s hope that i would bring the cat food or MAYBE even adopt her. Right away i was all for going to see if we could adopt this mystery cat. When we spoke to the people who had Lisa they said that they had taken her in to the vet and she turned up to be positive for F.I.V. (Our Kyoko is positive too) So they couldn’t take her home to their cat because they were afraid of the illness.

They were astounded that we came in asking about their stray cat because they had tried calling everyone that they knew to adopt her but nobody could do it. Just as we came in to the store asking about Lisa the guy said he was just getting his coat on to leave with her to the shelter. There was so much happiness in the air when we talked about adopting Lisa, both me and the shop worker had a long history of having and adoring cats so it was certain that this would be a good home for their beloved stray that they couldn’t keep.

She is a great cat, a best friend and a brave adventurer. Thank God for cats like Lisa.

Don’t be afraid of helping someone, animal or human just because of a “disease”. Sometimes difficulties try to hide the most worth while things in life. Be brave, be bold and give give give until everyone around you can be just as happy as you are.

May everyone have peace and love in their world!

Kyoko laying with me

Kyoko loves to be brushed and petted when he comes for a snuggle!

Lisa needs lots of hugs!

Lisa meows at me for some hugs when she is feeling lonely.

Nice guy is a cutie

Nice Guy needs no invitation to come sit on my lap wherever i may be. He knows i will pet him and he purrs loud!

Nice guy laying on my legs.

Who needs a blanket when you’ve got a Mr. Nice Guy to keep you warm?

Ahem... did i say you could read?

Its clearly not time to be reading, its time to be petting!

I read that today was “World Cat Day” … I talked it over with my cats and they agreed that every day is cat day.

This is my cat Lisa… she is so daring and brave. She went through a phase where she would jump up to this rail on my 3rd floor balcony and sit on the wood corner post.

It was so scary for me to watch her because sometimes she would walk all the way around then turn around on the thin rail like a pro tight rope walker doing a balancing act with NO NET.

I’m happy to say that this video sat in my hard drive for a while before posting it and she has since then stopped jumping up to this dangerous roosting spot.

Its kinda funny though, because she started jumping up here after she saw our neighbor’s cat do it before.

Have you ever wondered “What do police dogs do?”
Well here is a video of a show i went to recently where they displayed what police dogs are capable of doing to help officers do their job.

This videos focus is to show the dogs sniffing out lost or discarded objects that can lead to the arrest of suspects who may have gotten away with their crime if they had actually managed to get rid of key evidence.

The man asks for a set of keys to be thrown far into the field from the audience for the dog to find.

Here are MORE VIDEOS showing what kinds of things police dogs are capable of:

Finding hidden people & drugs

Stopping bad guys from escape

Protecting officers from attack

I found a blogger who recently wrote about a cat he adopted… this is a silly little thing i drew in an attempt to lighten their mood about job search. I know it can be awful.
But cheer up… your cat just ate your laptop so you don’t have to worry about that any more!

(Please let me know if you want me to remove the links to your posts… i hope you don’t mind.)

Comic based on these posts: http://jakeandspider.wordpress.com/2013/08/06/my-little-spider/
I made a comic.

I’ve got this adorable little robot toy kitten that meows and moves its paw and ear when it walks. It can’t really walk on the carpet though…

Nice Guy is upset that I’ve interrupted his nap and accused him of having a kitten.
Kyoko seems like he is interested in this toy for a while until it becomes too noisy.
Lisa is as patient as ever and tries to comfort the little orphaned robot kitten when nobody else will accept him as part of the kitty family.

I drew a winged cat who is carrying a newly formed star across the sky to its new home.

Flying cat carrying a star

It took me about an hour and 6 minutes to draw.

Thanks to the magic of video editing you can watch me draw this in about a minute!
